Granite background
Tyson Chamberlin has a degree in Business Management & Administration and was employed by North America’s largest granite quarrier and monument manufacturer for six years and was their top area salesperson and go-to person for custom design work. This experience gave Tyson a high level of expertise in the field of cemetery memorial counseling, and a strong education in the technical specifications of one of the world’s hardest and most sought-after building materials.
Tyson Chamberlin, owner and President of Chamberlin Granite Co., has years of experience serving the people of this community in many different ways. For ten years, Tyson taught swimming lessons, lifeguarding and CPR at the local YMCA, as well as coached the Lasers Swim Team. He has volunteered in the Warner Theatre Orchestra for more than twenty-one years, having performed for more than thirty productions. As an eight-year member and Past President of the Torrington Rotary Club, he has had a hand in raising thousands in charitable funds for the area's most needy organizations. Tyson serves as a Corporator for both the Northwest CT YMCA and for the Maria S. Brooker Memorial Child Care Center and Dental Clinic, where he serves on the Child Care Committee.
Tyson is active in the NWCT Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of both the Young Professionals Organization and this area's BNI chapter. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Torrington Development Corporation, which is charged with coordinating private and public redevelopment efforts to revitalize the downtown Torrington area. Finally, he has volunteered for multiple years with the Northwest CT United Way on a Citzen's Review Panel to help determine the funding of the area's most important non-profit agencies. More than anything, Tyson values treating people with honesty and respect. You will not find an easier person to get along with!
